Course Structure & Curriculum
The MBBS program at PSMU spans 6 years: Years 1-2 focus on pre-clinical subjects (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Microbiology). Year 3 introduces Para-clinical subjects (Pathology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine) with initial clinical exposure. Years 4-6 are dedicated to clinical rotations across major specialties including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, and Dermatology.
The final year includes a 12-month internship in Russian hospitals. Teaching methodology combines lectures, practical sessions, case studies, bedside clinics, and hands-on training. Continuous assessment through internal exams prepares students for final licensing examinations.
FMGE / NExT Passing Performance
Pacific State Medical University is officially recognized by the National Medical Commission (formerly MCI) and listed in the NMC's approved list of foreign medical institutions. Students graduating from PSMU with a valid MBBS degree are eligible to appear for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) / National Exit Test (NExT) to obtain a license to practice medicine in India. It is mandatory to complete the internship as per NMC guidelines.
