Course Structure & Curriculum
Year 1-2: Pre-clinical subjects (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Histology, Microbiology) with lab work and Russian language. Year 3-4: Para-clinical subjects (Pathology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine) + bedside clinics begin. Year 5-6: Full clinical rotations in Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, ENT, Ophthalmology in affiliated hospitals + final state examinations.
FMGE / NExT Passing Performance
Altai State Medical University is listed in the NMC (formerly MCI) directory of approved foreign medical institutions. Indian students must clear FMGE/NExT after graduation to practice in India. ASMU degree is globally recognized.

Barnaul is the capital of Altai Krai region in southern Siberia, with a population of ~630,000. It's a quiet, safe, student-friendly city with parks, museums, shopping malls, and the Ob River waterfront.

Safety
Barnaul is one of Russia's safest cities with very low crime rates. The local population is friendly toward international students.
