NEET UG 2026 Registration Closing TOMORROW: NTA's Final Call Do Not Miss This Deadline

AV Global Overseas Education at AV Globalยท7 Mar 2026ยท 12 min read

If you are reading this right now and you have not yet registered for NEET UG 2026 please stop everything you are doing and read this carefully. This is not a drill, this is not an early reminder, and this is absolutely not something you can put off until tomorrow morning.

The NEET UG 2026 registration window closes on March 8, 2026 that is tomorrow at 9:00 PM for form submission and 11:50 PM for fee payment.

NTA has made it crystal clear: the deadline will not be extended. So whatever is happening in your life right now board exams, tuition classes, family commitments carve out the next few hours, sit down with your documents, and get this done. Your entire medical career hinges on this one registration.

What Exactly Is Happening Right Now

The National Testing Agency (NTA) opened NEET UG 2026 registrations on February 8, 2026, giving students exactly one month to apply. The final deadline is March 8, 2026 tomorrow.

Here are the critical timings you must not mix up:

Deadline Date and Time
Last date to submit application formMarch 8, 2026 at 9:00 PM
Last date to pay application feeMarch 8, 2026 at 11:50 PM
Application correction windowMarch 10 to March 12, 2026
NEET UG 2026 Exam DateMay 3, 2026
Admit Card ReleaseLate April 2026
Answer Key DisplayJune 2026
Result DeclarationJune 2026

Note that the form submission and fee payment have different cutoff times. You can submit the form right up to 9 PM, but you have until 11:50 PM to complete the fee payment. Do not wait until 11 PM to pay payment gateway traffic spikes in the final hour and transactions fail.

"Won't They Extend the Deadline?" Here Is the Honest Answer

We know what you are thinking. NEET has extended its registration deadline almost every year in the past. In 2024, the last date was extended twice. In 2023 it was extended by nearly 10 days. So why not wait and see?

Here is why that thinking is dangerous in 2026 specifically:

NTA has explicitly stated that the NEET UG 2026 registration last date will NOT be extended. This is not speculation NTA reiterated this on March 6, 2026, just two days before the deadline. While past trends suggest extensions, NTA's public statement this year is unusually firm and direct.

Do you really want to bet your medical career on a 50-50 possibility? If the extension does not come and this year there is a genuine chance it will not you miss NEET 2026 entirely. That means no MBBS seat in India this year, and more importantly for students planning to study abroad, no valid NEET qualifying score, which means no MBBS abroad either.

Register today. If an extension does happen, you lose nothing. If it does not happen, you have protected everything.

Who Needs to Register Right Now

This deadline is critical for three specific groups of students:

1. Students targeting a government MBBS seat in India

If your child is preparing for NEET 2026 with hopes of a government medical college seat, this is the non-negotiable first step. No registration, no exam. No exam, no seat.

2. Students planning MBBS abroad Georgia, Russia, Philippines, or elsewhere

This is the part most families miss. NMC regulations require Indian students to have a valid NEET qualifying score before enrolling in any MBBS program abroad. If you are planning to send your child to Georgia for MBBS in September/October 2026, they absolutely must have a qualifying NEET score. Register today, appear on May 3, clear the qualifying cutoff and every door opens.

3. Repeaters and gap-year students

If your child appeared for NEET in 2024 or 2025 and did not qualify or did not get the desired score, this is the year to try again. The registration window closes tomorrow this is your window.

Step-by-Step: How to Register for NEET UG 2026 Right Now

The registration is entirely online. Here is exactly what to do:

  1. Step 1: Go to the official website
Open neet.nta.nic.in this is the only official portal. Do not register on any other website.
  2. Step 2: Create a new account
Click on "New Registration." Fill in your basic details name as per Class 10 certificate, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID. You will receive an OTP for verification.
  3. Step 3: Fill the application form
Log in with your generated credentials and fill the complete application form personal details, academic details (Class 10 and 12), address, and exam city preferences.
  4. Step 4: Upload documents and photographs

Upload the following scanned items in the specified format and file size:

    • Recent passport-size photograph (white background, taken within the last 30 days)
    • Signature on white paper (black or blue pen)
    • Class 10 certificate or birth certificate (for date of birth proof)
    • Category certificate (if applicable SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD)

Important NTA instruction on photographs: NTA has been very specific this year that photographs must be recent, clear, and show the student's face fully. Blurry, edited, or old photographs are being flagged and causing application rejections. Take a fresh photograph today if needed.

  5. Step 5: Pay the application fee

The fee structure for NEET UG 2026 is:

    Category Application Fee
    General / EWSRs. 1,700
    OBC-NCLRs. 1,600
    SC / ST / PWDRs. 1,000
    Students from Outside IndiaUSD 80

Payment can be made via Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Pay before 11:50 PM on March 8, 2026 not a minute later.

  6. Step 6: Save and print your confirmation page
After successful payment, download and print the confirmation page. This is your proof of registration. Store it safely.

The Correction Window: Your Safety Net for Mistakes

Made an error in your form? Uploaded the wrong photograph? Misspelled something? Do not panic.

NTA will open the application correction window from March 10 to March 12, 2026 a 3-day window where registered candidates can log back in and correct specific details in their application form.

However, a few things to note about the correction window:

  • Not everything can be corrected. Changes to name, date of birth, and category are typically restricted or require documentation. Changes to photograph, signature, exam city preference, and medium of instruction are usually allowed.
  • The correction window is only for already-registered students. If you miss the March 8 deadline entirely, the correction window does not help you you simply will not be registered.
  • There may be an additional fee for corrections. NTA has historically charged a nominal correction fee for certain changes.

The message is simple: register correctly today, use the correction window if needed from March 10 to 12.

Documents to Keep Ready Before You Start Filling the Form

To avoid mid-process interruptions, have all of this ready before you open the website:

  • Class 10 mark sheet (for name verification and date of birth)
  • Class 12 mark sheet (if passed) or enrollment details (if currently in Class 12)
  • Aadhaar card (for identity and OTP-linked mobile number)
  • Valid email ID that you actively check
  • Active mobile number for OTP verification
  • Scanned photograph JPG format, 10 KB to 200 KB, white background
  • Scanned signature JPG format, 4 KB to 30 KB, on white paper
  • Category certificate if applying under SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD
  • Debit/credit card or UPI app for fee payment

What Happens on May 3, 2026: NEET Exam Day

Once you are registered, the next critical date is May 3, 2026 the NEET UG 2026 exam date.

The exam will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (3 hours). It is a pen-and-paper based OMR exam consisting of 180 questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, carrying a maximum of 720 marks. The marking scheme is +4 for correct answers and -1 for incorrect answers.

Results and the final answer key are expected in June 2026.

Between March 8 and May 3, you have nearly two full months of focused preparation time. Students who register today and start preparation immediately have a realistic shot at strong scores including the qualifying marks needed for both Indian seats and overseas admissions.

For Students Planning MBBS in Georgia for 2026: This Registration Is Non-Negotiable

We want to address this specifically for the families following our blog on MBBS in Georgia.

Every single university in Georgia that is NMC-approved will give you an admission letter without asking for your NEET scorecard. But the moment you return to India after 6 years with your MD degree, NMC will ask: "Did you qualify NEET before you enrolled?"

If the answer is no your degree is not recognised for practice in India. You cannot appear for NExT. You cannot get a medical license. Six years and Rs. 30 to 50 Lakhs later, you are stuck.

The qualifying threshold for Georgia MBBS eligibility is just 137 marks for General category and 107 marks for SC/ST/OBC. That is not a high bar it is literally the qualifying cutoff. You do not need a rank of 1,000 or even 10,000. You just need to pass.

So if your child is planning Georgia for 2026, the sequence is clear: Register for NEET UG 2026 today. Appear on May 3. Clear the qualifying cutoff. Then apply to Georgia. In that order, every step is safe. Skip the first step and everything else becomes legally compromised.

Common Mistakes to Avoid in the Last 24 Hours

We see these every year without fail. Do not let your child be that student.

  • Waiting until 8:45 PM to submit Website traffic spikes in the last 30 minutes. Forms do not submit, pages time out, students miss the deadline. Submit before 7 PM
  • Using an old photograph from school records NTA is strict about recent photographs this year. A blurry or old photo causes application delays. Take a fresh photo today
  • Entering the name differently from the Class 10 certificate Even a minor spelling variation causes verification issues. Copy the name exactly as it appears on the Class 10 marksheet
  • Forgetting the Aadhaar mobile OTP step If the mobile number linked to Aadhaar is not active, the OTP will not come through. Check this before starting
  • Not saving the confirmation page After payment, the confirmation page is your only proof of registration. Save and print it immediately
  • Using someone else's email ID or phone number All future communication including admit card and results will come to the registered email and phone. Use your own active contact details

So if you are sitting at home today, unsure whether to bother registering because you do not feel ready, or because you are considering Georgia and think NEET is optional please hear us on this: Register. Appear. Qualify. Then everything is possible.

And when that NEET result comes in June 2026 and you know your score, we are here to help you figure out the best next step whether that is a government seat in India, a private seat, or an MBBS journey to Georgia. That conversation starts at www.avglobaloverseas.com.
