Medical PG in Germany

Medical PG in Germany is governed by German medical council and the medical universities of Germany has a separate system. PG IN MEDICINE IN GERMANY is straightforward if you have studied in German university in Germany up to the bachelor level. There are 2 options available:
OPTION 1 for Medical PG in Germany
-You need to have good command of the German language. A medical professional requires personal interaction with all patients. Since a PG course in medicine trains you for the practical aspects of the job, it is imperative that you are very fluent in the language to help your patients. Before applying for the course, you must have an A1 or A2 level in German basics.
-Get the admission letter from a government approved test or language learning center for TELC B2 and TELC C1. Normal and standard B2 and C1 level would not be sufficient.
-It is important you Study the German language up to C1 level in Germany.
-Only after this can you get the confirmed Observer-ship from a German hospital approved by the German Medical Council to pursue Medical PG in Germany. Initially, the observership would be for 1 month only. It could be extended for 6 months and then further if required.
-After this apply for Approbation exam and go through the “Approbation System” meaning registering yourself a German Medical Practitioner with German Medical licensing authorities. If you pass the examination, you will be awarded an Approbation license. The exam is conducted in a viva format wherein the test is conducted in German by a board of physicians. The exam includes Pharmacology, internal medicine, and surgery-related questions. You would have to pass the Kenntnisprüfung exam (Non-competitive)
Once the candidates have completed one-year Master’s program in Germany, they are eligible for seeking a work search permit with a visa extension for 18 months. All the candidates who complete post graduate level degrees like MHM or MIB, can avail this opportunity under their immigration policies. To receive the German medical licence by the authorities, candidates will have to submit the approbation application along with the marksheet of qualifying the above stated level of language exam.
Based on the candidate’s performance in personal interview along with the letter of recommendation received from the hospital where the candidates pursued their internship, they can pursue the residency for a minimum period of 3 years under a German hospital. The field in which the candidate has specialised plays an important role in determining the duration of the residency. After completing the residency period, you can seek an MD degree authorised by the German Medical Council.

OPTION 2 for Medical PG in Germany

-1year Masters (If you can learn the language in 1 year) / 2 year MBA in Healthcare Management.
-It is important you Study the German language up to C1 level in Germany.Preferably in the same city as the course.
-Only after this can you get the confirmed Observer-ship from a German hospital approved by the German Medical Council to pursue Medical PG in Germany. Initially, the observership would be for 1 month only. It could be extended for 6 months and then further if required.
-After this apply for Approbation exam and go through the “Approbation System” meaning registering yourself a German Medical Practitioner with German Medical licensing authorities. If you pass the examination, you will be awarded an Approbation license. The residency period of 3 years on a minimum basis and 5.5 years maximum (for Neurosurgery. The exam is conducted in a viva format wherein the test is conducted in German by a board of physicians. The exam includes Pharmacology, internal medicine, and surgery-related questions. You would have to pass the Kenntnisprüfung exam (Non-competitive)
